Hey, an update without people poking. Shocking, it happens!

Anyhow, welcome to Soulriders. We're a small friendly Role Playing community. Of late we've got a few D&D and Iron Heroes games starting up, and but most the activity is in various small chatrooms :) Feel free to come read game logs and join in though.

Anime

Time for another (slightly late) update of The Real Anime World…

There have been several new reviews in the Anime Review Board - Beet the Vandel Buster [manga], Fate/stay night, High School Girls, Kakurenbo (Hide and Seek), Magical Girl Nanoha A's, Space Symphony Maetal, Tokyo Godfathers, and UFO Ultramaiden Valkyrie.

Thanks to DB, Dracos, KLSymph, Ragnar, and Rift120 for the reviews, especially DB who’s posted half of them. Everyone else, feel free to comment on the existing reviews or even add your own.

The P~a~p~e~r is our section for information on fansub releases. Shuten (as always) has put a lot of work in on it.

Info for the following series has been updated in the last week:

Ah! My Goddess: Sorezore no Tsubasa, Binbou Shimai Monogatari, Bleach, Coyote Ragtime Show, .hack//Roots, Fairy Musketeer Akazukin TV, Hellsing Ultimate, Higurashi no Naku Koro ni, Honey & Clover II, Innocent Venus, Kanon (2006), Kiba, Kishin Houkou Demonbane TV, NANA, Night Head Genesis, Ouran High School Host Club, School Rumble Second Semester, Strawberry Panic, The Third ~Aoi Hitomi no Shoujo~, To Heart 2, XXXHolic TV, Welcome to the NHK, Yume Tsukai, Zero no Tsukaima,

Yeah. That’s two dozen series updated in the last week. Again. I recommend thanking Shuten for doing all this. Again.

That Cafe on Fifty Seventh Street is for general discussion on anime and manga. This includes, but is not limited to the series covered in our fansub information section - The P~a~p~e~r. And if your favorite or unfavorite series isn’t there, feel free to start a thread.

Gaming

Gaming is like some kind bizzare storytelling ART, where the paintbrush of the GM combines with the fluctuating palette of players to form an incredible, swirling drama.

Our most recent exhibitions feature...

-Avatars, an experimental dungeon crawl that has adapted save points into classic 2e D&D! Can the intrepid heroes defeat the DARK LORD?

-HEROES- where only the second-best supermen will do. Can they defeat the panoramic villians that live in AtroCity, despite low budgets, and even lower expectations?

-Snowfall & Swordplay is yet another excursion into Faerun. Far to the north from the Bloody Fields of Calimshan and Tethyr, this campaign follows the story of an all-too-likely group of dungeon-raiders. Some are in it for gold, some for glory, and some for knowledge. But they're ALL in it for the ale.

-Past Sins is a.. well, the words of the players say it best.

"[12:57] It's HERO, it's alternate universe, and Bjorn is trying to kill me, Rez, and Brian."

-Saving the Kingdom: Alruneza is yet another fantasy game, set to follow the classical mystical fantasy archetype that we've seen time and time again, both in games, such as Final Fantasy, and in books, like Wheel of Time. From zeroes to heroes; that's the way of the rural swordsman.

Alongside our excellent new games comes a recent surge of interest in the Role-Playing Codex. How can YOU GM better? WE HAVE THE ANSWER.

Fanfiction

Wow, six months sure passes quickly.

Yuthirin, where are you?! (insert echos)

Here are the new posts since March.

In Fanfiction Reviews, we have DB's review of Ranma 2096 and Taming of the Horse, Jeram's biased opinions of the RAAC, and Brian's opinions on Namida no Okonomiyaki and Saishu no Wakare.

In Book Reviews, Rift120 provides us with his thoughts on Thieves' World.

Last but not least, posted fanfiction! Since the middle of March, we've been graced with:

"Codename :: V" and "Sounds Heard in the Street" by Fallacies.

"Freedom, for Better or Worse" by Karlinn.

Chapter nine of "Avenging Act II", and the prologue and chapters one and two of "Avenging Act III", plus "Fusions That Should Never Be VIII", all by DB of the roman numerals.

"Interview with Bolverk" by Ragnar.

"The Blunt Force Trauma of Suzumiya Haruhi" by Brian. That's the prologue,
chapters one through four, and the epilogue. That's right, the complete story, plus there's a sequel coming along sometime!

"Ranmonic - Prologue" by Hawk.

"Problem Solving" by RangerShade.

Been pretty busy over the last half-year, no? And now, I go back to writing my own stuff.
